Lake Wallenpaupack, PA
Lake Wallenpaupack is the recreational heart of the Pocono Lake Region, a 5,700-acre reservoir created in 1926 by PPL for hydroelectric power near the borough of Hawley. The second-largest lake entirely within Pennsylvania, it wraps 52 miles of shoreline around 13 miles of open water up to 60 feet deep. Summers fill with boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and fishing for bass, walleye, pickerel, and striped bass, while winter brings ice fishing and snowmobiling. Public and fee boat launches ring the lake.
