Jim Thorpe, PA
Jim Thorpe nestles in a narrow valley along the Lehigh River in the southern Pocono Mountains, its steep, wooded hillsides and Victorian streetscape earning it the nickname "Little Switzerland of America." Restored 19th-century buildings along Broadway now hold shops, galleries, restaurants, and breweries, alongside landmarks like the Asa Packer Mansion and the Old Jail Museum. Just outside town, the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway rolls through the gorge while Lehigh Gorge State Park draws hikers, bikers, and whitewater rafters. Festivals fill the calendar year-round.
