The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks manages the state's public lands, waters, and outdoor recreation, from hunting and fishing to camping and wildlife viewing. Prairie, plains, and woodland habitats yield deer, turkey, quail, and pheasant, while 40-plus state fishing lakes hold bass, crappie, walleye, and catfish. The agency sells licenses and oversees the state parks.
